Pioneer JEWS in the PHILIPPINES

 

JESUS spoke of a parable:

Luke 19:15

15 And it came to pass, 

that when he was returned, 

having received the kingdom, 

then he commanded these servants 

to be called unto him, 

to whom he had given the money, 

that he might know how much every man 

had gained by trading.

It's not just Filipino pioneers, Chinese merchants, and Spanish industrialists, who helped build my nation.

There are the forgotten, refugee Jews of the 19th century.

It's time to see the Filipino-Jew friendship we had.

That we may better appreciate our social, cultural, spiritual, and economic heritage.

As born again workman, I like acknowledging whatever contribution people had in improving my nation.

The video above shows 10 pioneering Jews who changed the Philippines forever.

You'll marvel at how they had introduced many new ideas, and technology, to my country.

Even as I have not heard any modern man speak of these pioneering Jews, many worked alongside our then Commonwealth president, Manuel L. Quezon.

Because they came not as conquerors, the Filipinos embraced the Jewish pioneers.

Apart from introducing new things to the Filipinos, such as department stores, cinema, bicycles, cars, and air travel, the Jews also built their synagogue in Manila.

Knowing they had a tiny community, the Jews established their house of prayer, too.

As you will see in the video, many of the 10 pioneers mentioned contributed to building it, literally, and spiritually.

But what has become of them now?

Had not the HOLY SPIRIT led me to the video today, I'd not have known how the Jews helped us modernize, and also preserved their presence, through the books they've written.

Well, now I know, and I'm grateful to SPIRIT for teaching me.

I love GOD's people, His chosen nation, and I honor every contribution they've given my country.

And even if they had not, I'd still love them, because GOD loves them.
